Sweden Allows “Saviour Siblings” for Tissue Transplants
This is one of those stories that makes me feel that I am living in the middle of a science fiction novel. Really scary stuff going on here. Even if the process did not go any further than the harvesting of stem cells (which of course, it won't), it is extremely unnerving to imagine children artificially created for medical purposes. Doesn't that strike anyone else as sick and twisted?Five years tops. That's how long I bet it will take for someone to take the next logical step: grow children to harvest their organs for transplant.
